Mrs. Porter determined at an early age that she wanted to be an attorney based on her desire to help others and her interest in public speaking. She is the first lawyer in her family.
Mrs. Porter was born in Florida and lived there until high school when her family moved to South Texas. She graduated from McAllen Memorial High School in 1993, the University of Texas Pan American in 1998, and received her J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2001. Mrs. Porter has actively been practicing law since 2001, and provides the firm with experience in civil litigation, including complex litigation and civil trial, as well as appellate law experience. Mrs. Porter has participated in cases in litigation in Texas, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Minnesota, New Mexico, Tennessee, Alabama, and Kentucky.
Mrs. Porter has assisted in obtaining numerous jury verdicts and settlements. She has been named by her peers as a “Texas Rising Star” through Thomson Reuters in 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2012.
Mrs. Porter is admitted to practice in the following courts: Texas Courts, New Mexico Courts, United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, United States District Court for the District of New Mexico and the United States Supreme Court.
She has been an active member of numerous professional organizations including the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice, San Antonio Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, and is a past president of the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association.
Mrs. Porter is married to Chad Porter and they have two young daughters. Her family enjoys spending time outdoors and playing with their dog, Rufus.
